■ Heifer shows
Beefmaster heifer shows are held at several of the major state and regional livestock shows, giving juniors in most areas a chance to participate. Then there's the highlight show of the year- the JBBA National Heifer Show. The National Show is held in conjunction with the JBBA Annual Convention.
This event features premium money, trophies and buckles for the winners, and banners and ribbons for all those who participate. Special emphasis is placed on bred-and-owned entries, and the naming of the Grand Champion Bred-and-Owned Heifer ranks with the selection of the Champion as one of the Show's spotlight events.
