■ Commitment to excellence program
PURPOSE — Most Major Beef Breeds Search for Additional Income Other Than Registration and Transfers. This new program will allow BBU members to help raise this needed income and receive credit at the same time. This will allow BBU to continue to supply the much needed programs it has without making any cuts in the annual budget for these items.
FUNCTIOn — BBU Members will Receive Post Cards Giving them The Opportunity to Make A Commitment to Excellence for Their Breed and Association. The Program is strictly voluntary and has five levels of commitment that should allow any breeder regardless of size an opportunity to participate.
LEVELS OF PARTICIPATION — These are five levels of participation:
• Bronze Commitment to Excellence — $50
• Silver Commitment to Excellence — $100
• Gold Commitment to Excellence — $250
• Diamond Commitment to Excellence — $ 500
• Platinum Commitment to Excellence — $1000
RECOGNITION FOR MEMBER — Each year BBU prints its membership directory in THE BEEFMASTER COWMAN. Members who participate as member of the Weights and Measures Program and who are Merit Breeders receive a logo of each program printed by their listing in the magazine. The COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE PROGRAM will have logos designating the level of the member’s commitment from Bronze to Silver to Gold to Platinum.
WHY THIS PROGRAM WILL WORK — Most members do not want good programs or personnel to be cut by financial restraints. The money they contribute in this program is part of their business expense and should be able to be counted as a business expense when it comes to taxes for IRS. It is normally felt that most folks would rather give voluntarily than forced to through an increase in fees they normally pay.
